I recently discovered Illustration Friday and figured why not. Obviously a great way to "stay in shape", so here's my contribution to this weeks "Emergency". I didn't want to draw exactly what the emergency was but rather how they effect people. In this case the emergency could be anything. Most likely it's a dastardly dragon or rampaging army, but who's to say he isn't just racing home to the old royal throne.

Take care,

-Mike

You have such a fantastic style! I'm glad to have found your work through IF. I love the horse's wide eyes, they say it all!

Must be serious. Even his horse looks anxious. Very funny. Love the energy of this piece.

This turned out great--very nice vintage feel to it, and lovely, subtle comedic effect.

I just discovered IF two weeks ago, too, and am really enjoying it so far. Like you, I think it's a nice way to "stay in shape". Plus, the visits and feedback are good motivation.

Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with-

Good Work Mike. I'm glad you're on Illo Friday now too. It's a great place to gather illustration pals! I'm sorry I forgot to critique your book. Is it too late now? It's quite lovely and your color palette steadily improves. :)
